Welcome Message from the Chair
On behalf of the ADFIAP Board of Directors, I am delighted to welcome all delegates and guests to Macao, China, for the 40th ADFIAP Annual Meeting that will take place from May 10 to 12, 2017. I am equally pleased to invite you to this event as ADFIAP celebrates its 40 years of existence and to personally thank you for your continuing support of your association’s work and advocacy to advance sustainable development.
This annual programme, devoted to the practice of development banking, will give participants a platform to exchange ideas, discover novel opportunities, reacquaint with colleagues, meet new friends, and broaden their knowledge. The conference will held at at the Macao Science Center, which is a modern, multi-functional facility on the beautiful Macao waterfront.
The theme of this year’s conference is “DFIs and SDGs: Opportunities and Challenges” which will broadly touch upon the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of 17 aspirational global goals covering a broad range of sustainable development issues, and how development finance institution-members of ADFIAP can play a key role and adequately contribute to their fulfillment.
We are pleased to have SDG-conversant speakers and experts from multilateral institutions who will share their insights and ideas on the topics to be covered.
We are grateful to China Development Bank for their support, the Macao Expo Group Ltd. for organizing the event, and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China for their welcome.
